A Look to Kill: Coercive Control and Abusive Relationships
June 24 at 12:00- 1:15 p.m.
Hennepin County Family Justice Center
Nancy Ver Steegh, William Mitchell College of Law Professor, and Rana S. Alexander, Esq. will present on the topic of coercive control and abusive relationships. Topics to be covered include what is "coercive control" and how does it present itself within an abusive relationship, as well as what are some practical ways for both attorneys and mental health professionals screen for indicators of a coercive relationship, and what can be done when a coercive relationship is identified.
The presentation, and material that will be provided, is intended for use by both members of the Family Court Bench and Bar, as well as practicing mental health professionals and individauls working within the court system such as Guardian ad Litems and custody evaluators.
$10 for AFCC Members and $15 for non-members.
Fee will be collected at the door.
