Community Chat – Supervised Family Visitation in the Age of Covid-19: Our Past and Current Practices -June 26
Glorina Fruetel of Family Wise and Emily Haugen of Someplace Safe will share with us what works and what doesn’t and their agency’s adaptation to the challenges presented to providing supervised parenting time services during the pandemic and identify their practices in providing supervised visitation services during COVID-19. Both speakers will share what services are available from their respective agencies with social distancing and other health safety concerns during this time. Anna VonRueden is the Director of FamilyWise and will also speak to the changes for safety during Covid-19

Emilyn Haugen has worked in the supervised visitation field for 16 years, starting out her career as a monitor of supervised parenting times and then as the Director of Parenting Time Centers. Emilyn now operates 5 centers in West Central Minnesota. Emilyn has extensive knowledge in respectfully working with families going through a turbulent time in their lives.
Emilyn serves as Secretary of the Worldwide Supervised Visitation Network and as Vice President of the Minnesota Supervised Visitation Networking Group. Emilyn enjoys teaching Parents Forever, a divorce education program mandated by the Minnesota judicial system. Emilyn is also passionate about affordable housing and has a 17-year History in volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, currently serving as Secretary of her Local Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors.
In her free time, Emilyn enjoys spending time with her two teenage children, hiking the beautiful hills of Minnesota, and working in her garden.
Gloria Fruetel holds her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Glorina spent nine years overseeing guardians and conservators, and has over 20 years’ experience working with families with barriers to safety. With roots in relational and systemic beliefs Glorina Fruetel strives to support and encourage families to embrace their unique and authentic selves. As she gained experience in working with parents who have children diagnosed with ASD this strengthened her passion to continue her work with families who are experiencing challenges in their family system. She represents FamilyWise by participation on the governance committee for PDAS and a QPI committee member. Glorina has worked for FamilyWise for more than 5-years and began as a supervised visitation monitor before assuming the role of Program Manager. Her hobbies include fishing, gardening and cooking traditional Mexican food from varies regions of Mexico.
Anna VonRueden, Program Director, has worked with FamilyWise since 2013, serving as both the Family Services Manager and Youth Services Manager, as well as becoming a Credentialed Process Mentor in High Fidelity Wraparound and most recently our Program Director. Through these roles, Anna has gained extensive experience working with our county and community-based referring partners throughout all FamilyWise programming. She has become a well-known leader in the community, representing FamilyWise at the Ramsey County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative, Hennepin County Teen Parent Connection and the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative.
